Eileen
Carey is pretty busy these days promoting her newest music video for THAT TOWN,
one of the best country songs I’ve heard in a while! It’s got a rock edge to it and a modern topic
of whether to stay in your comfort zone, or step outside and chase your dreams.
She
recently played the Whisky on Sunset Strip and Music Connection reviewed her
live performance as follows: “Carey’s sassy yet humble stage demeanor gave
off Gretchen Wilson meets Miranda Lambert vibes, which clearly appealed to the
crowd, which engaged in hand clapping, line dancing and singing along. It was
refreshing to see a country music artist perform at this well-known rock &
roll shrine. Eileen Carey’s seasoned talent, her ability to consistently engage
her fans (t-shirts were thrown into the crowd), and a real chemistry with her
band members kept me entertained throughout the night.”
Needless to say, that’s no small task for a country artist, playing the infamous rock venue – the Whisky A Go-Go to rouse what was likely an audience that preferred or even expected, a different genre of music.
